The college student looks forward to graduation day like they would look forward to being pushed out of an airplane to a painful death. Come to think of it, my friends at school can only bring themselves to refer to it as the “G word”, a portal to an unfamiliar desert dimension with giant sandworms, business suits, and gray cubicles…the real world. This has been my view of it for the extent of my sheltered educational career, that is, until I began my internship at Second Melody.
I walked into the doors of this cozy office expecting a simple internship, and received more than I could ever have hoped.

So here I sit, at my little desk at the top of the stairs, munching on a rice crispy cookie icing brownie invented by the programmers, reflecting on the past few months. And I have decided that besides learning more than any class could ever teach, besides solidifying that advertising is a field that I definitely want to pursue, besides having the opportunity to meet and work with some awesome people, I would say that this internship has given me an altogether rosy and optimistic view of that fateful graduation day marching my way.
Because of Second Melody, I am confident that innately happy companies do exist, and the real world doesn’t seem like such a terrible and mysterious place after all.
